My sympathy for her. I actually impressed that we have a transport minister who cycles to work. It's an unfortunate way of becoming acutely aware of the risks of sharing a road with people who won't share.

Oddly, the online Standard doesn't seem to be covering the story - maybe it's just me doing a substandard search.

I couldn't find it either - definitely in tonight's paper though.

Better to break it - clean will heal. Hope she is OK and it does not affect her will to cycle.

I wish I'd broken mine, rather than done the 'floppy doll' on impact, then again, things might have been very different if I had not (dead). PS 'floppy doll' takes lots of practice and it's gained from club riding/racing . Don't put your arm down = crack !

Here for rides.
Grauniad has the story...

You have to love the line "Villiers, a former MEP who entered parliament in 2005, is a keen cyclist and is often seen walking round Westminster with her cycling helmet."

Ouch!!
Having tried both a broken collarbone and a dislocated shoulder on separate occasions, I can thoroughly recommend the break as injury-of-choice.
Not as painful and heals a good bit quicker.
Still :B) though. GWS.
