Don't bring travellers cheques: I gather it's nearly impossible to cash them these days, even in banks.
Eg, a quick google brings up http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/columnists/736720/On-the-case.html where someone had difficulty 7 years ago. It's only going to have gotten worse since then.
