Travelling the west coast of Australia - any recommendations?

Hiya
The girls and I are planning to tag a 2 week holiday on the end of a work trip to Perth in Australia. We were thinking about hiring a car and driving up to Exmouth over 2 days then coming back to Perth slowly via beaches, parks etc over the next 10. Anyone got any recommendations for things to do (or avoid)? We're going in October so I understand swimming with whale sharks is out!

I did the exact same trip about 10 years ago. There is shark bay about 8 hours north of perth, glass bottomed boats are many. definitely visit the pinnacles (tradition says you should run around them naked) (i didnt!) Freemantle was a nice place to visit just south of perth, took a nice sail boat down the river. Absolutely loved every minute, wish I had never returned. You will love it!

Most definitely Margaret river, get on a wine tasting tour, there're some amazing wineries. Have a look at the lodges at wise winery too, stayed there a while ago and it's just beautiful.
