Do Tredz actually have any stock at all?

Every time I order something from them I receive an email an hour or so later stating they are waiting for supplies from the supplier and it should arrive in a week or so.

If they were not so keenly priced I wouldn't bother with them at all, if I need something urgently I do not bother looking at their website.

Rant over.

TBH in today's market the margins can get very thin and buying in can risk being left with unsold stock on your hands which wouldn't do your cashflow any good.

I also suspect that some major suppliers put pressure on the retailers to maintain their prices rather than dumping the goods in order to get rid of them.

In these circs the good shops will have low stocks but a fast chain of supply.

In the two times I've ordered from them its happened to me...twice.

This was the main reason I stopped buying from Tredz, though to be fair they usually did get the stuff to me within a week.
Can't say I find them cheap though, nearly always sell at full rrp whenever I've looked, don't think theyv'e ever been the cheapest place for anything I've bought.

I already had. You seem to have done exactly what I said - shop somewhere you know to be unreliable but cheaper, then complain because it's unreliable.

No, my rant was about never having any stock, every time I order something I always receive the same email about it's been delayed because their waiting for stock from the supplier.

As I stated before, if I'm not in a hurry, i.e. do not want it within a week, I will look at Tredz, otherwise I do not bother.

I never said they were unreliable.

Clearly this must be some kind of magic befuddlement when you enter the shop, have a local hedgewitch dispel it and i guarantee you'll find a dodgy old fella in a torn faded old suit stood behind a cardboard box using pigeons for communication.

Ordered some gloves and innertubes last Wednesday - last Friday they said it was being despatched the same day, but still hadn't arrived yesterday so emailed to cancel but it had just been despatched (9 days after the initial order). No email to say anything was out of stock. Got a free returns sticker so it'll go straight back to them and I'll buy some gloves from somewhere else.

Guess it's like Ryanair, people know what they're like but keep going back because it's cheap.

Only tried once, they managed to loose my order, only found out when i rang up to see what the delay was, ordered then as I was on the the phone, though lost confidence in ordering from them, the 'stock' issue has appeared before

If I need someting urgent I go to the LBS and pay extortionate prices, if I can wait a day then its Chain Reaction, but if I can wait a week or so then I buy from classifieds like here.
I would like to support my LBS more but if I can save £50 on a chainset then I will and put the £50 to other uses.........go cheaper if you can wait a day
