Trek 7.3fx/7.4fx or Boradman Comp ?

If the question has been asked before apologies !! But just been to my LBS and saw and drooled over a Trek 7.4 fx bike, the guys in the shop were very helpful and because i mentioned the Boardman Comp they told me to pop in Halfords up the road.

To be honest i liked the look and the feel of the Boardman over the Trex all be it in a stationary position, Any thoughts help or guidance would be much appreciated.

Buy the one you most like the look and feel of. Not sure thetre is a 7.4 just a 5?? Specialzed sirrus and giant rapid are worth a look too. Personally if spending 800 or more i'd have a whyte cambridge. Then I tend to like leftfield optiond. That said I have had 2 sirrus and they afre everywhere?z?

Bikes are for riding not looking at. Get test rides on the bikes that interest you most and go by how they feel. Most times when I have researched a new bike I have been disappointed by the test ride on the 'logical' choice. Boardmans tend to have very 'sporting' geometry and gearing suited to the more athletic rider.

I liked the idea of a Whyte until I went round the block on one: it has a weird "kink" in the frame (to allow for the disk brakes), and my heel kept just clacking it !!
