I originally thought it was like Mad-one (as in one that is mad), but heard the A-mericans calling it a 'madone' as in badphone as you said. Ma don is probably right if it's a French name.

If it's a French word you could probably bet that however the Merkins pronounce it is wrong!

while we are on the subject do you pronounce Cervelo with a K (Kervelo) or Cervelo with a S (Servelo) bcoz i hear people call it both all the time

Well I think it's French, and I would hazard a guess that maybe it's a combination of 'certain' and 'vélo' or something like that...
