I am generally very happy with my Tricross Sport and (it being my first drop bar bike) am learning to spend longer on the drops.

However despite the rest of me being large (read fat) my hands are very dainty! On the drops I have real trouble reaching the brake levers. Is there any way to adjust them to bring them nearer to the bar?

Cheers

Caveat: I'm not familiar with that bike, nor drop bars etc in general, but I did do a quick hunt around for info!

It seems like your Tricross comes with Shimano Tiagra Dual-Control levers which, according to Wiggle's page for them, seem to be adjustable through the inclusion of shims/spacers. The techdoc at http://techdocs.shim...69830637998.pdf also shows these 'adjustment blocks' (item #10). Where you'd get these from I don't know - perhaps a bike shop can order them in?

It may well be that your levers/shifters aren't the 4500's - if you want to post the exact model perhaps other variations provide an alternative adjustment mechanism.

It seems a nuts way of adjusting the reach; what's wrong with a straightforward grub screw for adjusting the parking position? (That said, back to my caveat of not being familar with drop bars and their levers the answer could well be obvious!)

Mathew

Edit: Here's a supplier - http://www.petracycl...ebbab0cf2c68d33 - note that they do 4 and 8 degree adjusters, and are different left and right hand. Do check your specific model number first though.

Thanks Matthew. They are indeed Tiagra, so I'll have to investigate the shim approach.
