I like track cycling. I'm watching a recording of the first session now.

I think the swimming could definitely be trimmed but TBH if you have built a velodrome/pool/athletics stadium/whatever, then why not make full use of it? We don't have to watch the events that we don't like. I don't see why well-loved events have to go to 'make way' for new ones.

Has there ever been an analysis of how much air-time is given to the actual events? Once all the puff-speak from the pundits and commentators before and after the event is stripped out, and the sponsors' hug-ins are completed, what's your guess?

Precisely...well it does depend on the physique but most male Olympians should be able to pull off the look (except perhaps the shooters and archers). Might be a little uncomfortable for the horsey types but I'm sure they'll manage with some saddle adaptation

I believe in the early 20c they had live pigeon shooting though
