tomorrow i have to take Bosley the ferret to the vet to have his tooth out  which he has chipped and its gone bad

i don't think he will like me very much when he wakes up. he's had an upset tummy for about 6 weeks and i think this might be the cause of it.

We once had a rabbit (Truffles) who would not eat properly and was losing weight. Turned out that a rear tooth was over grown and needed removal. The front ones which can grow over long were fine. After a straightforward operation at the vet Truffles made a quick recovery and lived for another 2-3 years.

Hope all goes well with Bosley.

Poor thing - hopefully the initial short term pain will mean that longer term he gets better and is back to his usual self!

well, he's had his canine and a molar removed, the molar had gone bad too so it's probably been bothering him for a while. lets hope there's no more poorly tummy after this because i'm running out of ideas what to feed him. He's currently on wet cat food which is only 7% protein. you have to make sure that the food contents is between 30 and 40 % animal protein and next best thing to ferret biscuits (36%) are kitten biscuits (32% of which only 25% is animal) which poses me with a problem, because the biscuits were what i thought was upsetting his tummy. hopefully it was his tooth and not the food and it will be back to normal soon.

coffeejo... they are GREAT as pets. best to keep more than one, very funny, sleep 18 hours a day and are manic for the 6 hours they are awake, very mischievous, into everything but as easy as a rabbit to keep. just need room to play when they are awake coz they are very boisterous. little fur balls of fun. and they giggle which is really cute.

Fingers crossed that sorts everything out for him

*shuffles feet and wonders if she stands a hell's chance of persuading landlord to revoke his "no more animals!" rule*
