Trisled Rotovelo Carbon

Trisled, the Australian velomobile manufacturer has released a carbon version of their Rotovelo velomobile.

Specifications are available on their website and there is a video of one in action.

Comes in a base weight of 19.5 kg and AU$9,995.

Looking very nice! Have had thoughts about getting a shell to my trike but... do I really need one? how much weight will it add? how do I get in and out? and so on

Having had a go in the original Rotovelo I would have thought a carbon version defeats the main object of the Rotovelo, that of it not having a 'precious' shell so it can shrug off knocks, scrapes and 'park by touch'.

Yes, it gets a bit of a pasting on bentrideronline as being a very basic velo whose only saving grace is the robustness of the shell. Take that away and you've got a very expensive, very basic velo.
