Trousers to charity

Just to say that today I took to the charity shop 7 pairs of 40'' waist and 16 pairs of 38'' waist trousers - cos they just drop off me!

It felt soooooooooo good.

And although I dare say i could have done this by myself, its just been made soooooooo easy and fun having had help via this forum at every turn of the wheel.

This is a special place and I just wanted to say that here's another person that is a fitter and healthier bloke as a result of finding this forum. Thanks doesn't cover it.

Well done. Where are you at now in waist size? I know how you feel about trousers falling off. I have a 36" waist but have to wear 38" because of my damn rugby legs . Don't think I have had a pair of jeans that have fitted me since I was 13 .

You had 23 pairs of trousers???

 Actually, I have more - but i'm using them to dress a couple of Guy Fawkes in the not too distant future.

Down to a 36'' waist trousers now - of which I dont have many... but I have several pairs of 34'' old jeans, including a set of dungarees from back in the day. Her indoors has threatened to shoot me if I wear them though. I think i'll look a dude in them. :becool:

Keep going and the 34's will fit soon, I might leave the dungarees out tho ;-)
Wish I'd kept my 32's now. Gave them all away when I spread a few years back never thinking I'd ever get back in 'em. Nice to be buying smaller pants ain't it!

Can just squeeze in at the mo. One leg tighter than tother and getting tighter. Kept the 34's but the spare waistband material is bloody annoying all bunched up. Is it going to come down to taking jeans to be altered to fit as legs expand and waist shrinks?
Rapha touring shorts are a no no in 32, not far past the knees...made for whippets

I've lost a couple of inches around the waste too. Secret is a lot more regular exercise, and not much more food. A 40 mile ride is around 2,000 calories, which is a good meal. So do 40 miles every other week, and don't use it as an excuse to eat more. Then wait. It won't happen over night, but it will happen, and you'll be fitter too.

I have a variety of troosers in my wardrobe ranging from 34" to 38" depending on my yo-yo weight at the time, currently the 36's are just about fitting but have some nice stuff in 34" that I will get back into one day.

Go on an online kCals calculator and see what kCals it says.
Then use the graph above to work out what proportion you SHOULD eat.

If the online calculator ( or your Garmin or HR watch or whatever ) says 500 kCals, eat 5% of 500, which is 25 kCals, so don't bother.

If your device says 2000 kCals, eat 20% of it, which is 400 kCals, or a fresh cream doughnut.

I never believe the calories used on my Garmin, nor the elevation, I don't think the accuracy is good for that but good for distance and HR. Today I cycled a 10 miler and it had me losing 700 cals.
