Sometimes new jobs have unexpected side effects: I took one in my week's holidays from my usual job, now I can't stop eating ... it involved cycling 30 to 40 miles a day

Nah; trucks should be banned from "our" roads. Dirty big smelly things. They are riddled with blind spots and are not fit for purpose. The drivers can't even see in front, never mind the sides or the back. Anyway the drivers are constantly on the phone, or watching DVD's, or cooking their dinner..... Get them off the roads immediately!

Good luck with your tempting offer if you decide to go for it. As you know, there are still some good driving jobs out there. Rare, but they do exist!
