trunk/pannier bags

I have got a new ebike with built in pannier rack. please can you give me recommendation on what bag to get.

i would like to carry my bike locks, water bottle and snacks, also go to asda for shopping when needed.

would you recommend a trunk bag that expands to include panniers or seperate trunk and pannier bags?

Topeak do one with expanding panniers, but for some variants you need a specific rack. Other than that they are fab (I don't know of any other manufacturers)

"trunk packs/bags" are possibly more often called rack-packs, so try googling those too (I've got a decent Carradice one, but I can fit a bit more in 2xpanniers)

If you're shopping for quite a bit of stuff I'd go for panniers, Ortlieb are excellent and tough.
I've just worn out a set of Altura, they eventually just split at the seams so I'd not recommend those.

I have two of the expandable type which I use for touring. I find their versatility exactly what I need for this type of use.

However for the regular daily use you describe I think I would find them irritating. I'd buy "proper" panniers and a separate trunk bag.
