My bank recommends these people to offer a layer of protection when using online banking. The bank however, doesn't offer a link or download. How can I know that the Trusteer website is genuine, I mean the Trusteer site Google points to. With so many scams going on how can I know that the site isn't offering software with keyloggers or other malware built in. I know Trusteer is perfectly reputable, but lack the computer savvy to know if the website is genuine or fake. It probably is perfectly OK but how can I be sure?

I downloaded it on my bank's recommendation and a few days later uninstalled it. It slowed my pc down so much it became barely useable, and if you do a search you will find quite a few people saying the same.

I installed Rapport via a link from the Co-op (with whom I bank); this is the address.

I've been using it for a few months now without problems, however a search will reveal plenty of people who have found conflicts.

It is unobtrusive in use and their approach of working directly with "partner" banks to tailor the product is interesting and it will protect all passwords, not just your bank's.

However, as SJ notes, it is quite resource-heavy: Rapport uses nearly twice as much RAM as my AV (Avira). Obviously this isn't a problem if you have plenty of RAM, but it is quite a price to pay for such narrow spectrum protection.

Seeing this thread has reminded me to uninstall it: not because I have any particular concerns about its efficacy, but because it doesn't work in a virtual environment (which is to be expected) and I value the much broader protection that using Sandboxie gives me, over that offered by Rapport; and any competent AV will overlap with the protection Rapport offers, which further reduces its appeal for me.
