Am I the only one to find news stories which don't get fully disclosed usually become much duller when the cat is actually let out of the bag.

The minor royal blackmail is one - mind you the Observer had a nice caption to the recent 60th anniversary royal photo, concerning the guy standing centre right at the back.

The resigning chief constable one is another. I hoped it might be he was selling PNC data in his spare time when in fact he was using his work computer to send a woman inappropriate emails. Wrong but boring.

I guess it's why papers steer well clear of the truth as much as possible.
