Every year I do this, hunt through every card shop in town, through the masses of Christmas shoppers & I'm looking for a Birthday card. It's the OH's birthday on the 28th & I always leave it till now to buy her a card. Rows & rows of Christmas cards & one sad lonely row of birthday cards shoved to the back of the shop. Then it's wrapping paper. Try finding that in December without a reference to Christmas, more chance of finding the Holy Grail. I'm off out soon to get both, wish me luck. I always say to myself I should get them before December, but I never do:banghead:

Even worse - try taking them out for a meal and not finding loads of people out on office parties and places not serving Christmas food!!!

Do you have a branch of Paperchase near you? They seem to retain some non-Christmas sanity all year round.

Alternatively, with a bit of thought and effort you can wrap a present in something more unusual and make it look classy. Plain brown paper and string, newspaper and a fancy ribbon, a homemade giftbox...

For cards I use one of the online suppliers.
Moonpig, Funky Pigeon etc
There are some great fun cards to be had. Including those that you can upload your own pic and add your own messages.
Prices are good and can be delivered to you in a plain envelope with an extra envelope for you to address to the intended.

No Paperchase near me, just the usual generic card shops all with the same cards in. The other year I bought a massive gift box, filled it with coloured tissue paper and put her presents in that. That went down well as she had no idea what was in such a big box, then when she opened it her presents were carefully laid out.

That's nice!

I know what you mean about the generic card shops though, it is a pain.

Home made card?
