I save my TT helmet for racing (triathlons), I did one brief ride with it before my first race with it just to check it was comfortable, but no more than a couple of miles. I wouldn't consider it for commuting, maybe as I commute on my hybrid and that wouldn't be a good look. 
I do see the occasional person going round Regents Park in full TT setup, they don't like it when an old bloke on a clapped out hybrid with mudguards and panniers overtakes them
