so the valve starts off straight, then after a few mile the valve is bent. how is this stopped. its breaking the tube

In my humble opinion the main cause of your issue would be the tube isn't in the right place and the valve is being forced straight then reverting to the position to which it has been installed.


Personally I would take the tyre off, ensure the valve is 100% straight with no folds in the tube and refit.

take the tyre off its bead on one side, make sure the tube is sat equally round the rim, if its tight one side, even if you sit the valve straight before inflating they tube, it will probably pull back with the uneven tension.
 
I think it's to do with the braking. The talc idea could help with that. Do you do most of your braking on that wheel ?
