Tubes for touring

Hi all. This is aimed at the tourers of this parish. Which brand of tube would you recomend for touring. The wheel size is 700c x 32. Many Thanks. HG.

As do I. No particular reason, they were just the first brand I bought and I've found them reliable. Shame the dust caps are always yellow though!

I bought a stash of Specialized tubes at the York show. They were being sold by J E James at ridiculously low prices. I have been impressed with the quality.

For me it is Schwalbe as I have had a few Specialised tubes where the valve stem as come away from the tube. Michelins too thin as mainly for racing so very light not what you really need when touring. Continentals no experience but seem similar to Specialised when I have seen them on Continental tyres in Halfords. Schwalbe have a different quality feel I feel comfortable with. I have never had one fail. I have been known to carry a heavy load from time to time. The dust caps are clear and don't split like other makes' caps. Schwalbe make the Marathon Pluses so if it is durability you are after then these tubes will fit the bill nicely IMHO. They don't feel any heavier than Specilaised tubes. But they are probably all made in the same factory .

I don't have SMP tyres btw just their tubes.

I've used Continental, Schwalbe, Specialized & Michelin. I use Conti at the moment, largely because I *like* the yellow dust caps

I found the Michelin good, but the valve stem wasn't threaded on mine, which meant the pump sometimes had problems "gripping" it enough while inflating the tyre. Not had significant problems with the other brands that I can recall.
