Bought a couple of nice thick, fresh tuna steaks yesterday.
My plan is to fry it like a beef steak (i will have it medium/well done) but........
what to put with it?? ie rice/fries/salad??
What to rub in it?? ie pepper/spice??

What I DONT want with it is a Frey Bentos pie or any of @Accy cyclists flies.....before anyone suggests it ^_^

Findus crispy pancakes; you'd be as well if you are going to have it "well done"...

Ok I will change that to medium/well done.

Well done tuna steak is a waste of money.

Lace through with anchovies, rub with good olive oil and pan fry to rare - medium rare at a pinch.

If you insist on well done - braise in a rich tomato sauce with a handful of capers

A Thai Dish...
On a bed of noodles (10 mins to cook) with a bit of soy sauce, and some thin strips of cucumber and carrot.

So easy

Smoking hot cast iron pan, peanut oil, seared on both sides but still cold in the middle. Salt and freshly ground pepper. Horseradish. Broccoli and sweet potato fries.

And one way it differs from steak: it doesn't improve with age. Eat it the day you bought it.

People very often over do fish, it just needs to be lightly cooked, but it has to be fresh.
@PK99 's suggestion is good but you could try a tomato sauce made from fresh tomatoes and onions with some Italian herbs added.

A searing hot pan, no more than 1 minute each side, 30 seconds would be better then rest for two minutes. If you want it well done then you might as well open a tin in my opinion. I like mine with an Asian style salad and a soy dressing

Now that sounds nice. Was thinking baby boiled and chopped salad but that is soooo different and yummy.

I can enjoy pink in the middle. I had it in Portugal a few weeks ago and although I enjoyed it, it was too red for me.Mrs Dave can accept slightly pink at best.
