Turbo maiden voyage

I bought the Sartori TacX last weekend. I took it out of the box and I still can't make head nor tail out of the instructions to construct it.

did you miss all the other posts which said that measuring distance was pointless..??

unless your turbo has a very well defined and consistent power curve such that you can use speed to infer power!

That would be a Tacx VR then , just spent a sweaty 50 mins climbing through the Verdon Gorge, no traffic, no pot holes, and Dire straits on the ipod on full blat. Snow wgaf!!

Well that didn't work out as planned. I thought id have a look at the Tacx VR that oldfatfool mentioned and ended up getting that!! only £400 dearer than what i'd planned to spend. It better be worth it oldfatfool or i'm gonna turbo train to your house

You just need to fork out for the real life vids and a computer powerful enough to run them now!!

If you have a Blu ray drive for your pc then the newly released Route des Grandes Alpes is the dogs with around 700km of vid over three discs (pricey at £60 a pop but worth it imo)

The Bergen-Voss rlv is a good one to have with a nice variety of gradient and scenery again imo.

I bought the Sartori TacX last weekend.

I got a Satori in 2011 and love it. I used it over the 2011-12 winter then again a few times in April 2012 when I would have needed a couple of oars rather than pedals. If this snowy, icey weather arrives in NI as predicted then I'll be setting it up again soon. Doesn't seem like a lot of usage but that's what it's for imho: In dangerous weather conditions I'll be TT'ing on the turbo. I take my hat off to anyone to has to commute to work in those type of conditions.
