yep nowt for it......its got to be the lycra.......in my case it aint pretty......but i dont give a rats arse.... its too comfy and functional to wear anything else on my 15+ mile commute. Mind you i dont hang around at work when i get there or get changed to come home......not had any bad comments.....i reckon its because they dont expect (me to have taken up cycling) a fat bloke on a bike !

Fat dudes on bikes kick ass, just think of all those awesome backup energy reserves we have!

I am at work over half an hour before i need to be , this gives me chance to cool down , grab a cuppa etc and allows time for fairy visits/mechanicals.

I'm lucky, I have a locker at work with all my work gear in, shower gel, deodourant etc. Work also has a plentiful supply of towels to use too... So I pedal like billyo, get sweaty, cool down, then shower and change for work

Oh, BTW, I cycle in lycra

I'm amazed that so many folk have shower facilities at work!

We just have a hosepipe...

I cycle to work in my work clothes, have done for well over 30 years, there's nothing wrong with cycling in ordinary clothes, I just cycle easy, its using the bike for transport its not a race, there's no need to blast it flat out.

I do the pounding the pedals bit on the Sunday club rides I do a couple of times a month.
I need to MTFU a bit, the club runs for me a chanceto get some miles in at a reasonable pace, the next group up are to fast for me and i get dropped as they a the serious boys but most of the time the normal group is a bit steady for me so i hammer the commute .

You have the same problem as I have, between groups, in my case between the family group and the medium paced group, the medium group used to be my regular Sunday ride but as I've got older my pace has dropped and I'm working too hard to stay with them, I tend to do more lone rides to the café then group rides these days.
