I had a ride on one of those half-size penny farthings at a cycle event and found it rather odd because the steering lacks any trail. I am in no way brave enough to try the full-size ones, but I did see one being ridden in quite heavy traffic some while ago.

The first recumbent ride is so exciting HJ. Mine was a trike, which was easy of course, then I tried a high steering one which I felt was an achievement but the most rewarding was an underseat steering one, which when I tensed, I almost fell off, or at least had to put my feet down. It became easier in the end but I still prefer the higher steering. You've probably now got the bug & will have to buy one.

I have to say I enjoyed it and I would like to try a few other types now. As for buying one, I am not sure how I would carry it up to the third floor, I don't have secure storage at ground level...
