Thankyou rh100 for that. I had not realised that was Accessibility.
I could do with that myself on some websites. :becool:

ColinJ I agree, correcting everyones spelling mistakes would not be a good idea. As long as I can understand what someone is writing, that's fine.
The odd mis-spelling can be funny as you say.

Have a read through this. It seems not so difficult. You might only need another monitor and a cable.
Then a bit of buggering about with the display properties.

I use two screens at work every day. We got them a few years ago now and it has made a world of difference. I would never go back. However I have around 15 apps running at once and a lot of windows.

There are different configurations for two screens but I find one double width desktop suites me best. I generally put one app foremost on each screen. Having apps span across two screens doesn't work so well because you have the two monitor bezel's dividing them.

At home I happily use one and don't really need any more, although a big 24+ inch one would be nice.

I have looked at the Accessibility options on this computer, and tried using the magnifier. I think it would work much better on a larger screen. this is only 17 inch.

I have also contacted someone who is based in Coventry,(and who I have used before) who visits people at home to sort out their computers. Following advice on here I have asked him to check for the relevant output for a possible second screen. He will also increase the memory if possible and add another graphics card. Thanks to people's advice on here, I was able to speak to him, almost as if I knew what I was talking about. ;)

He can supply the screens if necessary. He will be visiting my mother tomorrow, and will report back to me, about what he can do in order to install a second screen.

The first company mentionned in this thread, are not being contacted again. If the whole point of an upgrade is to have two screens and an estimate leaves out any mention of the cost of the screens, then doubts do start to arise. :becool:

Let us know how it goes Speicher.

remember the fact that you can move the monitor icons around in the display properties window, to alter the relative position of the 2nd monitor and align the two desktops correctly or even swap between left and right - especially usefull if 2nd monitor is different size and resolution - this helps make it feel more natural when moving the mouse between screens as it will appear where you expect it.
