Two sentenced following cycle thefts

Detective Constable Craig Malthouse from Kent Police said: ‘We had evidence from various sources of electronic data that put Harris in the area when the offences were committed. High-value bikes were targeted that would then be sold to profit from crime. As a result of our investigation the Metropolitan Police has arrested a further six suspects on suspicion of handling stolen goods. This case was the result of some intuitive police work by the officers who stopped at the scene of the broken down vehicle, and a comprehensive investigation into a number of crimes.’

Summarising the sentences: one man got 9 months; the other 6 months suspended plus 150 hours of community service, for theft of items worth £27,000 - of which £13,000 worth were recovered.

That seems pretty reasonable to me. Well done to Kent Police and the Met.
