Just watched this and was summed up by RoubaixMurry thus; "I've never seen a more miserable but more compelling film in my life!" and that is it in a nutshell.
I won't try and describe the film as there are umpteen prescis reviews out there, but if you like well-made cinema, don't have to have a Hollywood-happy ending and want to see a directorial and acting tour-de-force, watch it.

It sounded interesting, but maybe one to watch on the small screen. Both lead actors are exception IMO.

All three lead actors are superb. Eddie Marsan as the seemingly charming but violent husband, Olivia Colman as the apparrently fulfilled but trapped and desperate wife and the incomparable Peter Mullan as the lost, raging and apparrently unlovable third lead character. Honestly, to try and describe them further would not do them justice.
