Ride It Like You Stole It!

Had a valve failure this morning - 3/4 of the way to work - valve separated at the join with the tube (2-3rd conti tube that's done this on me - I usually use Vittoria)
Only needed the levers (Green decathlon ones for the commute) to open the carcase and slide lever round, changed tube and re-fitted without a lever (Conti 4 Season) - some rim/tyre combo's are a mare - I find kevlar beads the best (easy to fit).
Refitted to bike, put chain back on (bear in mind this is a fixed) - aligned wheel and set off in less than 10 minutes - including getting the rear up to 110 PSI.
As folk say Practice makes PERFECT. If you have a bugger of a tyre, make sure you get sturdy levers. They do tend to get easier after the tyre has been on for some time.
