tyres were "race tzar" 23R, I'm now running Vittoria Rubino Pros. just fitted them and done no miles at all so we shall see. Did Barnsley to Scarborough the other weekend, sods law that the tyres turned up after the ride.

I've heard they are like riding through treacle.
May be for a pro, but for someone like me the puncture protection benefits out weigh any reduction in performance

Lol........at only 195gms for 25 width I think they may very well! Wouldn't have thought they would be very sturdy for big miles.

I don't understand this attitude. They are well reviewed by people who've used them for big miles. I'm certainly not going to buy cheap heavy tyres hoping they last longer than vastly reduced premium tyres.

As it happens they were wrongly labelled by Decathlon, and we're 23's rather than the 25's I wanted. I used them for a ride, but now have Michelin Pro 4's at 215grams for 25's. The Hutchinsons felt very solid (literally) I would not be concerned about using them for big miles, except for comfort.
