Tyre Upgrades

I have Vittoria Rubinos on my Argon 18. The back tyre had a couple of nicks in it in places so I was thinking of upgrading? Any recommendations on what the next "level" up in tyres would be?

I have no idea which type of Rubino I have as all it says is Vittoria Rubino - certainly not Pro or anything else!

All help well appreciated but lets stick to under £40 or is that being too cheap lol

Continental GP 4000s if looking more for performance over puncture resistance?

£30 a tyre

That said Vittoria Rubino are decent (been recently overhauled/facelifted) so depends what an upgrade means for you?

Upgrade tyres, under £40, hmm, a little bit more will get you a pair of Continental Grand Prix in 23c or 25c. Reasonable puncture protection, lots of grip, not bad rolling resistance.

Another continental 4000 gp fan just replacing my rear tyre after 8000 miles . £30 chain reaction. Or about 56 for a pair . Good do it all tyre . Not the best puncture protection I had 2 in 8000 in this tyre so not that bad ! .Depends where you ride more urban cyclepath would require a more puncture resistant tyre but my rural roads my confusion have been fine

Well, isn`t it obvious, I want a tyre that makes me go faster lol
Any tyre will do that better than the hateful M+ assuming you have the legs ;)

Are you looking for a racing tyre then? Forget longevity and puncture protection. Also is your £40 budget per tyre or per pair?
