Well this is a new one for me as I have just bought a house in Deal Kent, and took two bikes over with me to keep in the UK.
Now this is the first time I've rode a bike in the UK for close to 50 years and that was eye opener ..

Now one of the things I have found is there are loads of trails with tarmac roads and paths and I have tried my road bike ( Conti 4000s) and my crosstrail ( Gatorskins 28cc ) bikes on them both.
The crosstrail has Gatorskins 28cc on at the moment but after a few rides I have realised the road tyres are too racey and hard but the Gatorskins are also too hard for the trails..
The Gatorskins are run at a min of 6 bar so I could let some air out and try running them at a lower pressure or I could just get better tyres and be done with it.. I'm thinking the latter.
So I'm thinking Marathon Original Greenguard 600g or some Panaracer Folding City tyre 400g or is there somthing else and should I run 28cc or 32cc tyres..
As it will be for road use as well good rolling speed would be good.
I did try some Schwalbe 37cc tyres but they were too big and a bit slow.

PS.. Any one in the Deal area that wants a ride out at some time let me know?

Can I ask what size you run on?

Cheers
It was a long while ago. I changed my chunky mountain bike tyres for a pair of city jets for a faster ride. Width was 2.1 I believe. It was a while ago now though.
They did, obviously make a bike difference and I didn't get a puncture, as far as I can recall.

I too put city jets on my mtb, 26x1.5 I believe, they are superb on the road for the price but are very "slick" with hardly any tread pattern, so off road, due to the higher running pressure and lack of tread get a bit squirrelly and give a harsh ride! I've used them on gravely trails but wouldn't go near mud with them.
