Years ago my Sister checked her change at a supermarket checkout - she returned to the till and said to the person “my change isn’t correct” .They pointed to the sign which stated ‘mistakes cannot be rectified after you’ve left the till”. She had been given £10 too much change! They were happy to take it back. I think my Sister felt sorry for the person on the till - that they may have had to make good any losses.
