True! But I feel the point here is that whilst constraining some dangerous aspects, others have been allowed to increase totally unfettered.
I have a suspicion that car makers are happy to add safety features, but their sales guys are in no hurry to limit power, weight, speed ...

Suggesting limitations of power or speed would be instant career limiting moves unless it were required by legislation.
But then those are not really safety features anyhow, so irrelevant to this discussion.
