Basically does anyone think that the new Di2 Ultegra groupset is worth all the expense . Is perfect shifting really a good reason to buy it?

When you add up the weights of the components that you would have to change, they would (6770) be 70 grams heavier!

yes it is

If you can afford it then why not, I can't so I won't.

Even though I have a bike with full DA 7900 it would still cost me in the region of £1.2 - £1.5k just to upgrade, it's not feasible, and for what I do not necessary.

That said, I would have the existing front and rear mechs and shifters to sell, all have only done around 300 miles so I'd get good money for them, put that towards Di2 and suddenly it could be possible...............

Ui2 is apparently a lot cheaper than Di2 and so some bikes well have them as standard from next year. I personally wouldn't buy the groupset as an upgrade, but have already decided I will get a new road bike in 5 years and electronic shifting is already a must have for me.

Yeah, on a serious note I wouldn't actually consider it as an upgrade due to the wiring required, (suspect it would look a bit of a dog's dinner being externally wired).

A Di2/Ui2 dedicated frame would be a different proposition altogether, and if a bike came along that had it I wouldn't necessarily avoid it, but I won't be going out of my way to get it.

Yeah that's a good point about the external wiring, various reviewer's have said that the best way to get your hands on 6770 is to buy it with a new bike
