If the speed is the same it'll workWill an R8000, the latest ultegra model of cassettes be backwards compatibility with the previous version, 6800?
I need a long cage mech for that & it’s a good idea. There is one caveat - make sure your can handle the number of teeth. I.e. don’t assume you can fit a 34 tooth sprocket.
My standard mech which came on my TCR is running a 32 cassette. Do you think it would run a 34 with a longer chain? Otherwise there’s the Wolftooth hanger extension.I don't see why not, same indexing ie Shimano 11 speed.I think the main change was with the front crankset on r8000,it is slightly different from 6800 and advisable to run the r8000 front mech with the r8000 crankset.
I would not be sure on that.My standard mech which came on my TCR is running a 32 cassette. Do you think it would run a 34 with a longer chain? Otherwise there’s the Wolftooth hanger extension.
Don’t scratch the new one while fitting ithttps://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/shimano-ultegra-r8000-11-speed-rear-mech/rp-prod161367
