Has anyone used or got the new Ultegra R8000 groupset?

Looking to upgrade the chainset and brake callipers from FSA Gossamer on my Bianchi. Just wondering if it's worth spending slightly more on the new stuff or hunting down a 6800 deal.

Cheers for that video.

Firstly, why do I prefer listening to foreign people speaking English better than British people? It just keeps my attention more for some reason.

Secondly, that was very useful indeed. One of the items I am looking to change is the cranks. Very interesting negative comment on the shifting at the front, with thought and attention paid to tracking down why. Will look into that more, to see what others feel, but already thinking I may just save and get the 6800 version.

Brake callipers look very good though. Need to investigate whether they feel as good using 6800 brifters though.

Just found out that R8000 chainset shave a different spacing to 6800, so you have to upgrade the front mech if you want the chainset. Both work fine with 6800 brifters then.

Did you happen to find out whether the reverse is true? i.e. will an R8000 front mech work on a 5800 or 6800 chainset?

Apologies. Perhaps my response didn't properly explain.

To get the R8000 chainset to work with 6800, you need the R8000 Front Mech.

All components of R9100 and R8000 are cross compatible and are therefore able to be used with 9000/6800/5800 brifters.

Strangely enough, Shimano just quietly introduced a new 5701 Front Mech, in the same style as the R8000/R9100. New 105 on the horizon, it appears.
