I like to pre- purchase anything cycling, so that I'm not left searching without being able to ride. I had a pair of MTB cycling shoes sourced from Lidl (probably 12+ years ago). Last year the soles parted company with the uppers, and some evostick kept them going until recently - aside from a little res-stitching a few years ago they lasted well. So, out of the cupboard came my FLR 55 MTB shoes bought in anticipation (probably 3+ years ago). After 3 rides (less than 200 miles) the soles have come off the uppers, nearly as far back as the cleats - so I'm none too pleased. 3 weeks use is pretty poor. I suspect the heat wave weather is a contributory factor. Can anyone recommend a good glue that will last?
As an alternative, are there any recommendations for MTB -style (2 bolt SPD) style shoes that are durable and sub £50?
TIA

Iirc my PlanetX Das Boots are an rebadged FLR model. Great autumn to spring.

I bought a pair of DHB Dorica MTB shoes before Ashley took over Chain Reaction and started using them outdoors in spring '25 on my gravel bike. All good so far.

Ebay link, but not where mine came from...
