yeah, I treat that hill with disdain now, I can't even admit on here how small and short it was. My latest one is on the way home, 1.1 miles straight uphill. Not steep by cycling standards, but is 16 miles into my commute, so still gives me a feeling of satisfaction when I get to the top, and it's nearly all downhill home from there. My wife is surprised at how I've got on with cycling considering I could get out of breath walking to the toilet before.

Wayhey! Overtook someone this morning! Ok, he was on a front sus mtb with knobblies, but he took off before the green at a set of lights, and I still caught him and overtook. Ok, he was also pootling along pretty relaxed, but after a little while I heard the click of him shifting gear and he was catching up, so I put on a spurt and kept ahead.

I was quite glad when he turned off to go over the Millennium Bridge...:evil:
