Unbreakable mobile phone - broken

Talk about setting yourself up for a fall...!

Is anything truly unbreakable? Nevertheless, I'd have expected it to take a bit more than that to damage a phone marketed as being tough!

It was very funny, but I think you can see why the phone broke. Instead of just dropping it, the reporter repeatedly hammered it against the corner of that aquarium so all the force was being concentrated into just one small part of the screen.

Claiming it to be 'unbreakable' was asking for trouble. I'd have just called it 'waterproof' and 'extremely rugged' which it certainly is.

Quite some time ago I was working for Ericsson at a local technical/sales office. I had no idea about mobile phones but they had a new one there that they demonstrated by throwing it against a wall. It was blue plastic and a rounded off rectangle shape. I never did manage to find one, as it was some time before I actually had a phone of my own.

I still do have my first mobile phone, an Ericsson T39 which for sentiments sake, will keep. It works very well but texting is really hard work despite predictive text. (and Bluetooth, posh hey?) I don't use it everyday, being a bit of a gadget girl & favour either a touch screen or a Palm.

He did say you could hammer a nail in with it though.

Just don't use the screen area to hit the nail!

I think normally hitting the screen how he did wouldn't of done that. An unfortunate fluke. With any mass produced product, there is bound to be one which let's it down.
