Uncle John BB cable guide question

I have an Uncle John frame, which has an irritating flaw: the cable stop for the front mech cable is on the right side of the frame. This means the cable crosses over under the downtube (it routes under the BB) within a couple of mm of the tubing in order to enter the correct channel of the BB cable guide. This means that there is constant guitar string-style twanging as the cable vibrates against the downtube. So, do crossover cable guides exist or is there some kind of bodge I can carry out to solve this?

Unfortunately the cable can't route through the righthand channel of the BB cable guide (i.e. the channel usually used the the rear mech cable) as it will then rub against the welds.

I can't remember having this problem. I think I had the rear derailleur across the top tube and just the front derailleur under the down tube.

I do remember it took me ages to find a barrell adjuster to fit the frame. It's a odd size M5?

I also remember putting a washer under the bottom bracket guide, although i'm no longer sure why. I used loads of those little rubber gromits along the cable so that it can't hit the frame.

Yes, cable for rear mech is routed along the top tube and cable for front mech is route under the downtube. The issue with the front mech cable is that the cable stop is on the right side of the frame but the channel in the BB cable guide is on the left. This means the cable crosses under the downtube and vibrates agains the tube. I suspect that's why you fitted a washer under the BB guide - to increase the cable's distance from the frame. I might give that a go.

Why they can't put the cable stop on the left side of the frame I have no idea. That's where you route the front mech cable on a road bike.

To stop it vibrating buy some of those rubber doughnut thingies which are made for that purpose.
