With all the hype surrounding most guitarists, which good ones slipped under the radar and are actually more than capable of giving the big guns a run for their money?

For me, Steve Craddock of Ocean Colour Scene, Billy Duffy of The Cult and Steve Stevens fit the bill

Never saw The Pirates live but I rec this is about as rock and roll as it gets, Mick Green is superb as indeed all 3 Pirates are -fuggin' awesome!

Good choice TBM, Mick Green was great. It puts me in mind of another one who inexplicably missed most people's radar by miles but could really knock out some exhilarating sounds - Martin Belmont.

Here he is in Ducks Deluxe from the early 70s, playing stuff that demonstrates exactly why the electric guitar was invented!
