Do you like the 4.7 are you happy with it? If yes keep it. Why do want new wheels? Do you race? So many questions.

I have ridden the 2012 Madone 4.7 it is a stunning bike, I could not afford it and bought the much cheaper 3.5, and as much as I enjoy it, it's great bike, I keep wishing I'd found the extra money and bought the 4.7.

If was me with the riding I do I wouldn't bother changing anything on that bike. Put ten thousand miles on it, then get some new wheels.

What weight are the wheels on the 2012 bike? What weight are the wheels on the 2014 bike? Seems like the 5.9 should be better in every way. It's your money.

Stupid question!
When there are a list of options, one of which is the purchase of a new bike, then that is always the correct option even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary!
It's in the rules........somewhere. ^_^

OT but why can't one be the correct amount of 'whelmed'?

You're talking two years of progress in carbon fibre frame design here, that's like ten years in other materials. There will be a big difference in the way the newer bike rides.
