Are you riding brakeless? If so, those rims looks pretty sweet. Is there a strength loss with having radial spoke up at the front? I totally love them, but I'd worry about having a wonky wheel in 5 minutes of being on the crappy roads round here.

According to the answers to posted questions on the Evans item page for those wheels, no they do not have a braking surface. Brakes will obviously work but not as optimally as they would with a properly machined surface, and will probably damage that nice paintwork and decals.
They look like a decent set of wheels though, and are probably worth a punt for that money
