I had half a dozen free range eggs from Budgens the other week and every one was a double yolker. It was the only time I've ever had that in a free range egg though.

I get all my eggs from the farm where we used to keep my horses. The sheds they live in are right next to the house so I know how they are being treated. The farmhouse is in a village on the edge of a big town, and the fields surrounding the village are owned by the farmer so does that make them urban or country.

It's probably just a standard timber treatment these days isn't it rather than creosote and the like?

None of mine! I've kept hens for 5 years or so, and have never had a double-yolker. The single yolks are still pretty damn fine though.
