USB ports not working.

Hi,

Some how seem to have accidentally switched off all of my laptop's USB ports and none of my plug in accessories will work; Printer, USB memory stick, SD card reader, webcam, etc.

Can anyone help me to turn them back on again please?

I am running the 2008 version of MS Vista

I know it's hackneyed but have you tried rebooting? If you have deleted them, they might reinstall on start up.

If that doesn't work, you need to get to the device manager and I can't remember where that is hidden in Vista. I think that it's Start > Control Panel > Systems & Maintenance then click on Device Manager, but if you have Classic View selected, then you can see the Device Manager on the Control Panel.Once you are at the device manager, have a look for Universal Serial Bus Controllers and see if there is a ? or a ! showing there.

right-click My Computer on your desktop, choose Manage, and then select Device Manager. Right-click on your Computer name at the top of the right hand window pane and click on Scan for hardware changes.

That should reinstall the drivers for you.
