I've been having trouble getting a decent "invisible" finish when varnishing over newly applied water based decals on the last couple of restorations. I've been using those little tins of Humbrol enamel clear varnish, mainly cos that's the only stuff I can find that doesnt react ( destroy ) the transfer. Anything acrylic causes an instant reaction. Has anybody unearthed some spay on stuff that does the job ?. I hestiate to experiment cos the transfers arent cheap.
Thanks

Give Neil at Atlantic Boulevard in Bury a call. He specialises in this very thing and he's a nice guy.

I've used Montana matt spray cans for painting and finishing my last rebuild which seem okay. They are fairly forgiving and seem to hold well: the 'matt' really is matt too.

Mind you I haven't really tested the finish that hard for obvious reasons.
