My car is a 65 plate Astra so 10ish years old.
I have just received a letter from Vauxhall to say the manufacturer of the air bags, Tamara has found a "possible" problem as the chemicals MAY deteriorate over time.
Now the nearest authorised dealer is some 10 miles away (the local one closed some years ago).
So.......with above in mind should I bother or forget it ?

Takara ? Bit of a scandal iirc. Never know when you might need it

Personally I’d take it in

Get it done.

Aside from being free, theyve done it for a reason. Outstanding safety recalls upset insurers if youmhave a smack, even it it's unrelated to the incident.

Lots of good reasons for, none against. If youre rady on the dete and can give lots of notice for an appointment theyll probably do it while you wait.

As an aside, I one had an Astra that got new brake hoses in a recall. That suited me fine as it was going up due for a major service and and got some cash off as I didnt pay for parts or labour for a brake bleed with new fluid.
