Never needed to open the one in my bed room ie slide it to one side but did this morning.
It was then I realised it opens from the left but I would prefer if it opened from the right.
Is it possible/simple to change it?

BTW it's been there for years but health has caused me to spend a bit more time there recently.

Yes.. The way I'd do it would be to unscrew the runner from the ceiling and re-fit it t'other way round.
Maybe there's another way, too.

If possible, I would leave as is. My limited experience of blinds with pulley systems have been a mare.

We stayed at a caravan last year and the blinds weren't working properly, so I tried to fix them. Took me hours.

If I might hijack this thread for my own devious ends; can anyone tell me if it's possible to install a second set of "controls" (for one of a better description) at the opposite end?

My french-ish windows have three panes - one fixed to the left and two opening. The controls for the blinds are at the left and they slide to the left.

This is a pain as this door is used more than the front door when dragging bikes in and out; if I want to close the blinds behind me I have to go all the way back into the flat, across to the other end of the window (leaning over the various bikes currently in the way), pull the blinds across then fight my way through them to get out.

If I had a second set of controls on the RHS I could simply wind them back across by sticking a paw in through the doorway without the need to re-enter, or battle my way out again..

Vertical blinds definitely only belong in a commercial building.

These are the first I've had in a dwelling and fragile placcy weights notwithstanding I'm really impressed. They offer a second light / thermal barrier behind the curtains and are very versatile in terms of how much light you let in, where it goes and how visible the interior is from outside.

For example I can set mine so that they let in some light but totally obscure certain parts of the interior from the outside - meaning I can scuttle from the bedroom to the kitchen entirely unclothed with total impunity
