But it would explain why she gets abuse from motorists every time she goes out.

Alan Turing Way (nr Velodrome where Emma Davies-Jones was hit) has a segregated cycle path which rejoins the main carriageway at each junction. You have to be very aware of traffic to your right as you rejoin (cos motorists won't be). Its supposedly 30mph too, but as a 4 lane orbital road, av speed is way higher.

Sounds like a death trap to me.

Reminds me of when she was on TV saying the same thing a couple of years ago. I can't remember the exact words that she used but I remember that the way that she said it, and the words that she used, made it sound like she was implying that her life was more important, and that if she was hit/injured/killed it would be worse than if it happened to a 'normal' cyclist. Perhaps she didn't mean to come across like that, but I think she could have chosen her words more carefully.

Yes, I remember that. My thoughts were the same as yours as to her choice of words.

As an alternative, why not email the velodrome? That's where she, and a lot of GB's cyclists work. She can't be the only one suffering at the hands of inept drivers.
