I love those plug-holes! So much more imaginative than just letting it all flow over the top, as the Derwent Dam does, just up the valley from Ladybower.

Although that is interesting in itself - it's like white noise when you walk past it.

Agreed, a gorgeous sound, & a bit scary for anyone seeing it for the first time
My daughter thought the Dam was bursting

I love the Plug holes - most times I've passes that have been some feet above the water. Bet they are working now !! I can spend hours looking at the various steam engines at MOSI - not just the 'trains' but the working mill engines. You don't get engineering like that often now.

That looks lovely, but a bit dodgy for any windsurfers or canoeists! Great slalom though..

Next job on my list is this window in Teddington . Its an old school hidden away , when i went there it was like the town had been built around it but in its day i guess that was the heart of the town .
The builder has added some upgrades to the new window as he obviously knows better than the Victorians that made the window over 100 years ago :wacko:
