I have vista and had to buy pinnacle studio 12 to edit down movies from my canon ixus 100 which were in mov format which moviemaker didn't handle
though possibly it did on windows 7 but can't remember if i tried it on the works pc which being a dell vostro business cheapy may have not had that
installed (doesn't have the games in). Fortunately 12 is only £9.67 but you would need 14 for HD which costs about £35
I'm using Vista - I did find Windows Live Movie Maker hidden away in Windows Live Folder..it does support HD and I was going great guns editing some hoiday footage..but it crashed before I saved it
also the laptop processor was struggling with it all..time for new laptop me thinks
